Faculty & Staff Information

This year, we will be holding two 2025 Commencement Ceremonies:

Denver Coliseum

4600 N. Humboldt Street
Denver CO 80216
Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 10 am

  • We recommend Westminster Campus faculty attend this ceremony. Boulder County Campus can attend either ceremony. 
  • Faculty who attend will need to flex contract days to account for these hours. Instructors will be paid for attendance but must RSVP for processing. If faculty are unable to attend, please notify your supervisor.

Blue Arena

Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 5 pm

  • We recommend Larimer Campus faculty attend this ceremony. Boulder County Campus can attend either ceremony.
  • Faculty attending should adjust schedules as done in previous semesters. Instructors will be paid for attendance but must RSVP for processing. If faculty are unable to attend, please notify your supervisor.

Attendance

Faculty attendance is required at one ceremony, and we encourage all staff and instructors to be part of this important event.  All employees are welcome to attend both ceremonies if you wish. Please work with your supervisor for any adjustments in your work schedule.

Schedule Adjustments

Early Closure: On-campus services will close at 12 pm on May 13.

Remote Workday: Friday, May 16, will be a remote workday for eligible employees. Speak with your supervisor if you have any questions. Please note: This is subject to change.

Parking

For the FRCC Commencement, complimentary (free) parking is available for all faculty, staff, volunteers, students and guests at the Blue Arena and Denver Coliseum.

Mileage

Staff, faculty and instructors can receive mileage reimbursement from their department budgets by submitting a 2025 Travel Expense Reimbursement form.

Regalia Staging Area

Volunteers will be there to direct you to the regalia location. Regalia must be dry cleaned/steamed/pressed before arriving at the Blue Arena or Denver coliseum. Staff won't steam gowns. Loaner caps and gowns will be available for those who need them.

Food

Denver Coliseum: A light breakfast including coffee, fruit and pastries will be available from 8 – 9 am. More details coming soon.

Blue Arena: A light buffet dinner will be served for faculty and staff from 3 - 4 pm in the HomeRun Bar & Grill upstairs (elevator and stairs are available for access). Please eat quickly and head back to the regalia area to dress for the ceremony by 4:15 pm.

Processional

Faculty, instructors, and staff are invited and encouraged to participate in the processional. Please note that academic regalia is required. Once seated, please plan to remain for the entire ceremony.

Line-up:

9:15 am at Denver Coliseum

4:15 pm At Blue Arena

Follow the marshals' instructions for line-up. Faculty, instructors, and staff will assemble in the hall near the regalia staging area. If walking the processional route is a concern, please speak with a marshal. You may arrange to walk down early or, if needed, take a seat in the second section of chairs on the floor before the procession begins.

Recessional & Reception

After the recessional of stage guests, please remain on the arena floor for the reception to greet and celebrate with students. The reception will replace the recession and allow graduates to celebrate with you, their family and friends!

Bags & Backpack Policy

Backpacks, coolers or large bags are not allowed. Blue Arena and Denver Coliseum has a CLEAR BAG policy. Please leave your personal items in your car.

More Info

After the reception, please go to the regalia area quickly to retrieve your personal belongings. We need to be out of Denver Coliseum by 2:30 pm and Blue Arena by 8:30 pm, if not earlier.
