2025-2030 Strategic Plan

Shaping Our Future, Together

We’re thrilled to embark on the development of FRCC's 2025-2030 Strategic Plan—a bold, collaborative journey to define where we're headed and how we'll get there. This is more than just a plan—it's our opportunity to dream big, take action and ensure FRCC is truly future ready.

In 2024, a cross-functional Strategic Planning Committee made up of administrators, faculty and staff began laying the foundation for this important work. But that was just the starting point. This process has been powered by voices from across the college—students, employees and community partners—through a series of listening sessions, working groups and events designed to spark conversation and inspire new ideas.

We officially kicked off the process at our Fall 2024 In-Service, and during Spring 2025 In-Service, we launched the next phase—bringing energy and intention to the development of a plan that will carry us through the next five years.

Our Strategic Plan will be our North Star—guiding decisions, aligning our priorities and helping us fulfill our promise to students to expand access, elevate quality and shape a college experience that prepares every learner for a thriving future.

Process for Developing the Plan

We are partnering with an external facilitator, CampusWorks, Inc, to guide us through the strategic planning process. The facilitator will help engage students, employees and community partners and analyze data to inform the plan.

Research & Planning

We aim to engage in a planning process that is inclusive and collaborative—we’ll be seeking input in a variety of ways from all FRCC community members, including faculty, staff, students, alums and community members. This includes:

  • Conducting baseline research on FRCC through a review of internal data and an initial set of interviews with key community members, including members of the Strategic Planning Committees.
  • Engaging in internal listening with 100–175 people, including three days of engagement opportunities on campus.
  • Conducting an analysis of the higher education landscape, learning from analogous organizations and benchmarking FRCC against similar colleges.

By the end of the project next fall, FRCC will have:

  • A published 2025-2030 Strategic Plan with established objectives and goals.
  • Key performance indicators and key performance measurements.
  • An implementation and tracking plan.

Input & Listening

The Strategic Planning Committee will analyze and discuss the data gathered through the research phase to begin to define the strategic direction for FRCC. As the strategy begins to take shape, Campus Works will conduct a second round of internal/external listening sessions to test ideas and receive feedback from the community, helping the committee refine the strategy and define organizational implications. Campus Works will also build financial projections to further inform decision making.

Timeline & Implementation

Over the next few months, there will be opportunities to provide feedback as the strategic plan is developed through activities like focus groups, surveys, information sessions and workshops. Internal and external input is important to developing our goals and strategies.
