Under the Colorado American Indian Tribes In-State Tuition Act, signed into law in 2021, a student who would not otherwise qualify for in-state tuition and who is a registered member of one of the federally recognized American Indian tribes with historical ties to Colorado is eligible to be classified as an in-state student for tuition purposes starting with the 2021-22 academic year.
Students approved under this new exception are eligible to receive a stipend from the College Opportunity Fund, in addition to in-state tuition rates.
How to Apply
If you're a registered member of one of the federally recognized American Indian tribes with historical ties to Colorado, submit the In-State Tuition Classification for Members of American Indian Tribes with Historical Ties to Colorado form. Your tuition classification change will not apply to any semesters prior to Fall 2021. The form will be electronically submitted to the Registrar's Office. The deadline is no later than 30 days after the start of your first class. We'll send you an email once it has been reviewed.
