Welding is one of the best-paying skilled trades in the country and can lead to a rewarding career. Many welders work in manufacturing; they make everything from cars and ships, to airplanes and aerospace equipment. Welders also work in construction, creative fields, pipeline installation and military support.
At FRCC, you'll get the skills as well as the personal attention and support to complete your education and start your career. We offer an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in welding as well as a variety of specialized certificates on our Larimer Campus.

Our welding program offers an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in welding, along with several specialized welding courses and certificates. You can complete many of our welding certificates in just one semester.
Our welding facility and welding instructors are certified by the American Welding Society, which guarantees you are being taught the latest techniques and technologies. Prospective employers will know you have been trained in a certified welding testing facility by certified welding instructors.

AAS in Welding
Program Locations: Larimer
Total Credits: 60 credits (4 semesters)
You'll learn metal cutting processes, blueprint reading and many welding techniques, including shielded metal arc, gas tungsten arc and gas metal arc. You'll graduate from this program with quality welding skills plus teamwork and communication skills. This degree prepares students for entry-level careers in welding, fabrication and manufacturing.

This certificate program is designed for the artist in you. It combines 2D design and introductory welding concepts to produce welded sculptures using techniques to color and texture metal.

Tanco Donation to Fund Welding Scholarships
Industrial construction company Tanco Engineering, Inc. has donated $20,000 to the Front Range Community College Foundation for scholarships that will go to students in the college’s welding program. The Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative has matched Tanco’s gift for an additional $20,000.
